How do we know if a creator rate is fair? We have no benchmark and feel like we are getting quoted random numbers.

There is no fixed rate but there are anchors. A common starting point is roughly 100 dollars per 10k followers for a single post, then you adjust up for strong engagement, niche authority, extra deliverables and paid usage rights and down for weak engagement. Micro creators often cost less per post but deliver better engagement, so cost per result beats cost per post. Ask the creator for their rate first, then sanity-check it against their engagement. Use a budget calculator to plan the spread before you commit.

No fixed rate, just anchors

Roughly 100 dollars per 10k followers for a post is a starting point, not a rule.

Adjust for real factors

Engagement, niche, deliverables and usage rights move the number up or down.

Think cost per result

Micro can cost less and convert more. Compare outcomes, not just post price.

Plan the spread

Use a budget calculator to size the roster before you commit the spend.

Always ask their rate first. Half the time it is below what we expected and you never want to anchor high by quoting first.

We pay micro creators less per post but they out-convert the big names, so our cost per sale is actually lower. Watch the result, not the rate.

Usage rights are where rates jump and brands get surprised. A post fee and a buyout for paid ads are two very different numbers.
