Usage rights are a separate fee from making the content, so price them on top. A common starting point is 30 to 50 percent of your content fee per platform for a set term, like 90 days. Charge more for paid ad use, whitelisting on your handle and exclusivity. Always cap the term and define platforms so usage cannot quietly run forever.

How to price usage rights

Usage is a license, not part of the content fee. Bill it apart.

Charge on top of content

Add usage as its own line, never bake it in free.

Price by platform and term

Per platform, per time window, not one vague flat fee.

Cap the term

90 days renewable beats perpetual for a flat fee.

I quote content and usage as two lines. It stops a 200 dollar video from running as ads for a year free.

Cap the term every time. 90 days renewable, not perpetual. Perpetual for a flat fee is a trap.

Whitelisting on my own handle costs more. It is my name on their ad, so I price it higher.
