Do I need a real camera to get brand work or can I make good enough content on my phone?

A phone is more than enough, brands run phone-shot content as paid ads every day. Light is everything, so face a window or grab one cheap key light and you are most of the way there. Keep the shot steady with a tripod or a propped surface, lock focus and exposure so the camera does not hunt and fix your audio with a clip-on mic since bad sound reads as cheap faster than any visual ever will. Shoot vertical, wipe your lens and stop blaming the gear.

Gear is not the problem

Brands buy phone-shot content constantly. Your phone is not what is holding you back.

Light first

Face a window or one cheap light. Good light fixes more than a better camera would.

Steady and locked

A tripod plus locked focus and exposure stops the amateur wobble and hunt.

Sound sells

A clip-on mic is the cheapest upgrade with the biggest payoff. Bad audio reads cheap.

A 20 dollar clip mic did more for how professional my videos felt than any camera upgrade ever could have.

Window light only, no fancy setup and brands have run my stuff as ads. They care about the message, not your camera body.

Lock your exposure and focus before you hit record. Watching the shot breathe and refocus mid-video screams beginner.
